I don't think I can link to this directly, but theres a great Popeye making of movie at www.animationmeat.com, rants and raves, popeye. It will look "quaint" to some, but to me its pretty bad-a$$. later!

To me this is gold.
It's been over a decade sonce I saw Popeye's Aladdin and His Lamp so it was nice to see those clips. Animating on top pegs has always been a curiosity to me; neat to see it done. And that has got to br the most cumbersome camera. I wonder if that was a Fleischer invention?
