Many of the different artists, studios and recruiters that have visited the CCAD campus (and those that we have visited in the field) have had "closed-door" portfolio reviews where only the student and one or two faculty members are present. This presentation focuses on the details of those discussions in their application to animation demo reels in general. While there are no sure-fire guidelines for "exactly how to make your reel," there are some common pitfalls to avoid.
The evening will include presentations of several demo reels from recent graduates (including commentary from the artists on the review process, their current job, and what they wished they knew the first time), guidelines for preparing your demo reel , and "open floor" demo reel reviews (in VHS or DVD format).
