I would like to know if any one has an idea of the salary range of a 3-d light designer and/or colorist from the beginner to a supervisor. Thank you. :confused:

Hi.... here in India the rates for a beginner varies from $100 - $250 (a month) and as a professional could go upto $500 - onwards. What also matters out here is how sweet u are towards your superiors. If your work's not all that great but u spend time chatting with the Seniors buying them gifts n stuff they consider u real fast. It's BAD out here. There's no value for hard work!!

SAY WHAT?????????? So if the animator is of little talent, but good and quick with the bribes ( or whatever "sweet" entails) they can advance??? "Bad" is an understatement.

Sorry, bud, but your advice is probably only good for someone in India ( which might be a GOOD thing)-- in North America or Europe the system is pretty much merit-based, and the pay is certainly better....
The advice for Lynn would be based upon where she lives.
The wages vary so widely from shop to shop that $500 US to start could be the normal at one location and $1000 a week at another.
It'd be based upon your experience and demonstratable skills.

And no sweetening required.
