What possible positions can be filled by an animation student in Toronto?
Im looking to gain experience and training while attending school.

Should I invest in a PC or Mac if I want to start my own work?

Grateful for your advice.

What do you want to do?
2D, 3D, FLASH, Maya, Lightwave?
What are your drawing skills like? Styles? Themes?
What other software are you familliar with? Photoshop? Painter?
The positions that could be filled are many and varied, from gofer to animator--it depends upon what YOU can offer and what the studios need.

Bear in mind most studios are not interested in training people. They simply do not have the time or resources. They often seek talent that has a level of skill that's already usable--and then "train" on the job through the work they assign you.

Make no mistake, schooling will likely consume all your waking day--leaving you little study time at it is. Gaining work in a studio will consume up a sizable amount of your energies and valuable study/school time anyway.
Besides, if you have the talent to be hired on at a studio, you don't need the schools.

My advice is to invest in a pencil and paper and master those first. Its the more recognized set of tools and skills. The computer stuff can come later.
