It's here! DVD that deals with the best part of any animation; the story!

Does anybody have a favorite animation that has no story?

Anyone?

How much time do you spend mastering the technical end of animation? Just a bit?

How much time have you spent learning to be a master storyteller? ...

Think about it.

Look, this is NOT a million hours of painfully boring screen captures. This IS tons of creative examples and clear explanations of how you MAKE YOUR AUDIENCE CARE.

When your audience finishes watching your animation, make them remember you, tell them a story!

Check out the trailer for Visual Storytelling and decide if you are serious about making great animation.

Animation without a story??

Um, anytime you show an encapsulated sequence, that begins and ends ( which is literally any piece of film) you have what technically consitutes a "story".

Its just might be a GOOD story.

Yes, that is the beginning of the idea of story, however a more fully realized, clear and thoughtful definition would be:

Definition (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=story)
sto·ry (stôr, str) n. pl. sto·ries An account or recital of an event or a series of events, either true or fictitious, as:

1. An account or report regarding the facts of an event or group of events: The witness changed her story under questioning. An anecdote: came back from the trip with some good stories. A lie: told us a story about the dog eating the cookies.

2. A usually fictional prose or verse narrative intended to interest or amuse the hearer or reader; a tale. A short story.

3. The plot of a narrative or dramatic work.

4. A news article or broadcast.

5. Something viewed as or providing material for a literary or journalistic treatment: “He was colorful, he was charismatic, he was controversial, he was a good story” (Terry Ann Knopf).

6. The background information regarding something: What's the story on these unpaid bills?

7. Romantic legend or tradition: a hero known to us in story.
