Production Background Unit

Hi everyone,

I am one of the junior members to the awn forum. I own an art studio here in India. I have currently pitched new project for the “Production Backgrounds” for 2d film. With this regard I would like to get all your suggestions.

1. With manual/digital backgrounds most of the studios here in India use poster colors as the main medium. But with my exploring I have found “Gouache” is playing major role production background painting. Expecting a clear suggestion over which is the better medium to the current trend.
2. Any suggested books for the trade and techniques of making 2D film Backgrounds?

it all depends on the subject and the concept art dosent it. whatever gets you closest to the final look.

ive got people doing art work on photoshop directly which will make it look like it was hand painted.

so really depends on what it is that you want to achieve with the look.

why did you pitch for a project you didnt know bout ? :confused:
