Hello,

I JUST joined this forum. I like actually networking and conversing with artists before just watching reels. I like to get feedback from artists, not just watch endless reels. Plus, forums are a god way to keep your finger in the pulse of the industry.

The studio is in teh process of shopping for produces for a series of short films. One of teh film needs two types of animation.

1. Approx ten mintes of scatter flashback scenes. Voiceover does not need to be synced. Teh film may be produced with an HDTV camera and there is talk of BlueRay. Not totally sure what the producers will want here. It will be shot digital at the very least. The majority of the work will be for the opening credit sequence. It will tell the story of how the main character has come to the point where he is...homeless. I am not sure of the length of teh opening sequence, but I will estimate 5-8 mintues. The cuts will be really erratic and fast. A fast forawrd, slightly high pitched voice over with be tracked over the animation.

I want to give eth artists somewhat free-reign over the chain of events that has landed the character where he is (at this point in teh film, sipping a coffee at 3am at a "Waffle House"). I woudl like a written outline of your plot pitch. I just want to audience to be able to get how this character came to be in the time of the opening credits. Sound editing and voice over artists will be available (like say you need a land lord screaming or something), but it is all going to be done fast and erractis so it does not have to be synced.

2. The rest of the animation scequences with be whenever the characters have an extreme intimate moment (liek a first kiss) they have flash backs from previous lives. then as other couples. I want these to be, again, really REALLY quick (even more than the opening sequence) and can be any sort of coupling (even an animal couple or two thrown in for humor). I am teh type of person who is sick of seeing a bunch of blonde whites in every depicted mainstream role, So mixing up of ethnically is welcome. Even different time periods. Aliens..again I want to give the artist some options. I dont just want a production artist here.

On am open to animation styles, it just has to be consistant. So it coudl be really simplisctic, real abstract, Disney style, Anime inspired... I am looking open. I just want the 2D animation to be consistant.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Now, I have another animation portion for this same projectthat I need quoted. The end sequence, the character teleport to anotehr demention. It is a plane above our earthly plane. Is it Heaven, is it Nirvana? It is not defined, it is open for interpretation. But it has to be extremely high end production value. We have ideas about more specifics of this scene.

The scene would last 3-5 minutes...tops.

-------------------------------------------------------------

The project is in preproduction. I can send scripts in rough format so you can get a feel for where teh animation goes and teh story that surrounds it.

I want soem demo reels and estimates. When we meet with the producers again, I want to show some artists reels with some quotes.

Ask me any questions. email me at shannon@blackout.com with quotes and requests for mailing addresses and/or FTP site info.
