Hi there...i'm Harshdeep Borah from India/Delhi...i've been working as a 3d artist for 3 years for now and got some good experience in indian cinematic and gaming industry as to list few companies i worked...Pentamedia Graphics, NIIT Tech. Tegmen Games a french gaming company. But i'm not satisfied with the amount and quality of work being done here in gaming in india. Hence have been struggling a lot and starving to work to the best of quality here. Though i got chance to work with a good french gaming company, as i got started to burn up my fuel...it got shut down. I felt so sick that i decided to take a BIG chance of my life NOW. I'm currently 24 and found that this is the time that i can really take a chance to study a short term 3d animation course and unleash what's within me. I did a lot of research online and with some of my good cg friends..and found 2 short term schools best. 1st is VFS and another is www.Vanarts.com

As i'm from india, money means a lot to me...so
1. Vanarts was a bit bearable to me in terms of money.
2. Vanarts is having the Game Art n Design course and VFS does not.
3. Vanarts gotta seating of about 10 students per class whereas VFS got about 30 students per class.

So i thought of joining Vanarts and gonna join their September 2004 class and flying 27th of this August. All i can say is that its not necessary to run for a degree or diploma...but look at the most happening place/school, look for the best Demoreels students are producing and then go for it. In my opinion Vanarts is really good if you have some experience in CG before and then want to learn the latest softwares like Softimage XSI, Maya and yes...THE BASIC/ADVANCE PRINCIPLES OF ANIMATION they teach. I found some cool demoreels of the students of the school and then the alumini list. And yes the place of your studies also happens to help you a lot. As vancouver is 1 of the most happening place out there for CG learning and jobs...u get to know some good links which may tunn on handy after you graduate. You just cannot rank any school...just cus it really depends on student how he comes out of it and gives way to his career.

So with these words..i hope my money, passion and effort of growing my desire and knowledge of 3d game art and design grows well there at Vanarts...and that in the end i produce some eyecandy demoreel and get some good job what i dream of.
