hi all,

during my college days, i made an animatics of joe satriani's 'crystal planet' for one of my courses. by the end of the course it had become my pet project almost with me thinking of making it into a music video one day!! sounds too ambitious, but what's the harm in dreaming big, right!

so could anyone give me some advice on what to do with it, as i really gave my heart and soul into it...... but still it's in the form of hand drawn frames only...... nothing more...... that one day still hasn't come yet!

bye...... anything including sarcasm is awaited!!

never let go of a dream. I've spent years having cool ideas for cartoons and, never having taken an art class, I didn't think I had what it took in any way to make 'em. In the last year and half I've just gone for it and done some stuff I feel pretty good about, reached into some mediums I've never done before, took a life drawing class, etc.

Anyway, 'nuff about me. The trick is to get a game plan going. I don't know what skills or software you bring to the table, but sounds like your soundtrack is in place. Next you want to do a "bar sheet" that sets out in general terms what will happen and when. Kinda tricky with Satriani since there are no words to go with it, so you'll have to go by time-- better to set it up by frames, which means you need to get the song into some kind of software.

Pop me an email if you like. My website is listed in my profile. I'd love to help you get going if I can.

'tanks, kook!

Yeah, this day job crap really gets in the way of what's really important, doesn't it?

School starts monday, they haven't given us rosters yet, my computers for multimedia were really fast 10 years ago, and I got no LSD projector--I mean LCD-- and to make matters more interesting, I was working on a lesson on design concepts (although I'm really an English teacher) when I thought that it would be easier to animate a cartoon lecture than plagerize this book I'm using as the basis for a few instructional units. I'll post a link when I get it done, should I wind up putting it online.
