A friend of mine who is an extremely talented and
maverick filmmaker is looking for animators to help
her do some animated sequences for a very exciting
film about SEX. There will be pay and it's destined
for Sundance submission. The deadline is tight and
you'll be working closely with the director to execute
her vision for her most interesting film.
Here are some vital info from the director herself:
- WHAT? a couple of funny and witty :30 traditional or
flash animations about SEX (3D might take too long for
this tight deadline)
- WHEN? first deadline is for Sundance submission
(rough cut) on Sept. 22nd. After that she'll need more
for the picture lock on Oct 25th. (maybe later than
that)
- WHERE? preferably in California especially around
Los Angeles where the director is located. You will
work closely with the director (who is a great comics
artist herself) and will be provided storyboards by
her.
- HOW MANY? looking for 2-3 talented and
self-motivated animators.
- HOW MUCH $$?? around $400 for each :30 sequence.
- WHY? to be part of an interesting project headed by
a visionary director.. and gain great experience and
make a few $$ on the side.
- ALSO... looking for a talented Title Designer.
Synopsis of Film:
We are a production company filming a serious
documentary examining love and sex in the modern
world. Rated PG-13, it examines how sexual
experiences effect love, and vice versa. The film
includes interviews with experts of sexology, adult
film stars, and everyone in between, exploring sex
from various perspectives---biological, psychological,
emotional, intellectual---in order to discover the
basic experiences we all share. It will be
interspersed with witty and humorous animated
interstitials to help move the documentary along.
This is where you come in. Lots of creative freedom
for character and dialog based gags, all done in
different animation styles.
