Talking Valentine’s Day Character Design Contest Winners Announced!

The judging is over in AWN’s latest Character Design Contest. To celebrate Valentines Day, the contest centered on the classic Romeo and Juliet scenario - We revisit the classic theme of forbidden love! Two lovers, either from different families, different clans, different races, even different planets, tempt fate to be together. History says their love is tragically doomed...but maybe, just this once, the fates will be bested!

The entries were judged by Larry Lauria, our long-time Animation Café moderator, distinguished animator and educator.

The winners are:

1st place: "Romio N Juliet" by Forum user Naresh
Larry – “A lyrical design of two lovers intertwined beautifully executed - a bit controversial... great colors!”

2nd place: "Til' Living Death Do Us Part" by Forum user Danimation
Larry – “Great attitude and posing and an ‘off the wall’ offering.”

3rd Place: "Ikanaide" by Forum user Linverse
Larry – “An Anime rendition of two winged lovers.”

Each of the three winners will be able to choose one item from a grab bag of DVDs and books, including Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, “The Making of Ghost Warrier” and “The Official Softimage | XSI 4 Guide to Character Creation.”

Congratulations to all three winners, as well as everyone who participated.

A copy of each of the winning entry "threads" follows this announcement.

Default One more thing

We'll be posting the results on the AWN website as well as announcing the winners in next Monday's AWN Spotlight Newsletter, which goes out to 44,000 readers.

Congrats again to all the winners.

Dan

Just wondering what the 'Till death do us part' image looks like. I can't seem to see it.
