Question Cost for 20 min children animation video

I have a concept in mind and want to invest in converting it into a 20 minute educational home video animation film for children. I am currently in Delhi, India, and have absolutely no idea of how the animation industry works, but am convinced that the concept will sell. Can I get estimates of the funds I would need to get it made? I intend selling the final video through Amazon, ebay and private channels. Any pointers and assistance is welcome.

hi Mr Samnam,
this is ashis here .i am a senior animation film maker assosiated with zee tv from last 9 years and is highly experienced with all modes of animation like 2D ,3D , FLASH ETC.now i am working as creative director of a newly emerging animation studio in hyderabad called ' ANTERIOR ANIMATIONS'. lets come to ur point.
as you had mentioned in ur letter that u are planning to cell it to AMAZON , E BAY AND PRIVATE CHANNELS, u r talking about web n flash animation.are u looking for only 20 mins of animation or u r planning for a series of animation having 20 mins duration?after i get the detail from you i can give a clear picture of the costing to u.any way to start with i am giving u a rough idea about the different types of costs for diff. types of animation.

1.2d cell animation--------A)HIGH QUALITY---100-200 $ PER FEET.
OR --150-280$ PER SECOND.

B)MIDIUM QUALITY--75-100$ PER SECOND

C)LIMITED QUALITY-50-75$PER SECOND
2.FLASH ANIMATION------
A)HIGH QUALITY---1000 $ PER MINUTE

B)MIDIUM QUALITY--400-600$PER MINUTE

C)LOW QUALITY-LESS THAN 400-200$ PER MINUTE

3.3D ANIMATION------A)HIGH QUALITY----1000 - 4000 $ PER SECOND

B)MEDIUM QUALITY--700-1000 $ PER SECOND

C)LOW QUALITY----300-500$ PER SECOND

All these prises are very raugh.but its all depends on project to project and quality to quality.

we have a great experience in all these modes of projects and we are having good track record of submit workds in dead lines.

if u r really interested in working with us then u can contact me on ashispahi@yahoo.co.in or u can call on.040 23535677.bya n take care.

Default Costing for Animation Movie clips

Dear Samnam!
Selling animation on web and selling animation to Channels are two different things and require different quality of movie clips to be developed. Reasons for that are Web has got limitation of data transfer speed and thus webisodes or you can say animation for web is done in a different way to enable it run properly on web where as broadcast quality acceptable to Channels is very much different.

You will have to decide that you want to make these animated movie clips to be aired on web or on private channels after that you will have to come for a discussion in which alot of factors like the quality the effect the number of characters their complexities and look and feel of backgrounds have to be discussed, only after a detailed discussion will somebody be able to give you an estimate.
Roughly it should cost you $1000 to 1200 per minute for 2D using flash and $3000 - 4000 for 3D animation using 3D max etc.
Should you need any further information you are welcome to contact me at paresh@sysconconsultants.com or call me up at 09422088724.

Regards
Paresh
